These are label designs for an imaginary brand called Cosmos. The brief was for three labels for three different scents:

• Stars Blend: honey and chamomile

• Sun Blend: orange and pomegranate

• Moon Blend: lavender and coconut

The style needed to look high-end, but also hand-made, and the brief said to use watercolors and gouache, or digital art that mimicked it.

I started by brainstorming colors and composition ideas. Then I painted some random shapes in watercolor. I scanned those into photoshop and arranged and colored them to be cohesive. After completing an abstract colored background for each label, I began to flesh out each design.

I wanted to include the ingredients of each scent. I also wanted the designs to match the name of each scent. I decided to that each label should correspond to a time of day, with stars blend being early morning, sun blend being sunset, and moon blend being night time.
